Always accessible with better performance!
Renewing the Diamir was a major challenge, a wing that was acclaimed by everyone thanks to its performance, safety, performance and weight, our best selling wing for 20 years!
Above all, it was necessary to maintain the incredible performance and safety as well as the low weight while improving the performances in turbulent conditions and the accelerator as well as a better liveliness at the beginning of the turn.
We had a clear idea about the technologies that we would implement but still had to find the right balance, the homogeneity in the tensions, the balance of the wing, a lot of work, modifications on the prototypes to arrive to a result that satisfies us completely.
- better performance in turbulence, a more direct, more intuitive turn, a more homogeneous wing,
- an excellent glide even in turbulent conditions, comparable to wings of greater elongation,
- very homogeneous turn to finish its turns facing the slope serenely,
- if necessary a stable descent to the ears,
Our flight advice:
As soon as you inflate, the difference with the Diamir is noticeable. It feels a sail more tense, with more energy while enjoying a damping easily controllable on the ground. The movements are managed at command without difficulties, it only asks to fly so let’s go!
In flight the evolution is notable, the movements in pitch and yaw are erased by our new profile offering excellent glide even in turbulent conditions. The wing advances without movement on the rope or between the two half-sails. The thermal efficiency is inccredible thanks to an excellent sink rate and formidable maneuverability in the middle of the fork which make the DIAMIR 2 a wing particularly easy to operate even in thermic conditions!
The pure performance is incredible and an elongation that we kept close to 6, it rivals the other wings of the same category having a higher aspect ratio.
In transition the accelerator reveals all the potential of the wing; the first bar the acceleration is straightforward and offers a greatly improved glide.
We strongly recommend using DIAMIR 2 in the middle of the range, rather than in the upper part.
Behind the scenes…
The specifications were set in late 2014, after a few weeks of CAD on our software developed by the staff of engineers and professor emeritus (Michel L. and Pierre P.) at the service of our designers (Xavier D. and Pierre R). The first prototype flew in April 2015; satisfactory in performance and maneuverability he had a wing tip too powerful. A second prototype will be made at the end of 2015 which opened new perspectives and showed the limits not to be crossed. The third worthy heir to the first two, was a marvel of the first flights, a few adjustments will suffice and comparative flights confirming its excellence against its competitors, the DIAMIR 2 was born … The approvals have finalized the process in June 2016 for the M and L and in August for the S and XS is 18 months of work where the whole team NERVURES has invested a lot of energy and passion. From the design office to the seamstresses who had to invent new techniques for particular assembly processes, including the many test flights, it is the work of the whole team Nervures that was born the DIAMIR 2!
Accessories and options
The Diamir 2 is delivered in a protective under-bag, accompanied by our ultra-light double bar accelerator mounted on two split risers on Charly aluminum, a small repair kit and a light carrying bag 90 liters which is perfect for use on site or mountain thanks to an excellent portage. If you are equipped with a very large harness, we recommend the Site 150 liters backpack.
When ordering, specify the carry bag required.

We advise you fly in the upper part of the range.
The canopy keeps the V shaped inner surface with X ribs on the three lines rows. A nylon rod arch on the last row facilitates the repartition of charge in the profile rear part.
Lines attachment points with mylar reinforcements are inside the canopy to reduce drag.<br\> We made the choice of the nylon rods technology with an original system to fix the extremities flat on the rib (see picture). This device avoids strain concentrations, abrasion and hard points likely to cause problems with lines. This technique has been associated with an innovative cutting of junctions between leading edge, decoration and upper surface panels which makes them surprisingly sleek.
At the wing tip, a free last cell, blowing at the trailing edge, acts as a dump and determines the vortex which gives all its efficiency to the aspect ratio. A small reminder for the 25 th birthday of the Gypaaile Marboré which was already equipped with than kind of wing tip
The quality of the assembly work is signed by Nervures for zero compromise on your safety. We have selected the best Porcher Sport fabrics and we combine several qualities to get the optimal lightness and ageing characteristics :
- leading edge and pattern : new Skytex 38 g universal water repellent,
- rear part of top : Skytex 32 g évolution plus, water repellent,
- main ribs and X ribs : Skytex 32 g hard finish,
- bottom and intermediate ribs : Skytex 27 g.
The upper part of suspension lines is made of impregnated unsheathed Liros Dyneema DC 100.
The lower part uses pre-stretched Edelrid Dyneema finely sheathed which combines good dimensional stability and outstanding durability of rupture resistance. Geometric arrangements adopted and the choice of unsheathed Liros have reduced by over 30% the frontal section of the lines in comparison with a same size old Kailash. The gain in drag is very significant which is reflected especially during accelerated transitions. For reasons of behavior consistency in time at low speeds, we have chosen to stay on 3.5 ranks at the center. This choice increases the length of suspension lines less than 6 m out of a total 270 m (size M). The overall drag is thereby increased by less than 0.4% which is negligible in relation to pitch stability improvement.
The risers are made with a 15mm light and stable strap.
The best hardware has been selected :
- maillons rapides inox diamètre 3mm “Péguet”,
- ball bearing blocks for the accelerator,
- accelerator halyard spliced with fangs “Charly”,
- lightweight ergonomic handles attached by magnets.
The Diamir could also be equipped with Dyneema halyard risers (- 200 g)
